To earn this certification, you must:

  • Sit for the ITIL 4 Foundation exam via PeopleCert®’s online proctoring service.
  • Score a 65% on the exam in 60 minutes.

No specific experience is required to join! But do bring your curiosity and willingness to try new, innovative things.

Before your event, you will be sent a Pre-Course Study Guide. The Pre-Course Study Guide also contains the official ITIL Foundation Certificate syllabus, which you should read.

Once you register for the academy, you will first be directed to a virtual collaboration space hosted by our top ITIL subject matter experts. There they will provide you with instructions on how to interact with the adaptive course and other digital resources. The collaboration space is always available for any questions. Be sure to check in frequently as new webinars, group coaching sessions, and individual office hours are posted frequently. Based on YOUR PERSONAL interaction with the materials, our ITIL 4 experts will work with you throughout your annual term to get you ready to pass the ITIL 4 Foundation exam and set you on a path for long-term ITIL success!

Adaptive learning is a method of on-demand instruction that orchestrates artificial intelligence and sophisticated algorithms to present the next appropriate action based on what it knows about each unique learner. It evolves moment-by-moment using trial and error as the environment changes. This allows the learner to make mistakes and pursue misconceptions, closely mimicking real-world cognitive situations in a consequence-free environment, and providing an effective and engaging experience. Such personalization increases efficiency, as well as engagement, by taking into consideration what each learner has already mastered — reducing time to learning by 50% on average.

That is completely up to you! Adaptive learning is proven to reduce learning time by 50% since it takes into account what you already know - only presenting content when you need it.

In general, it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to complete each modulo, so potentially anywhere from 140 minutes to 14 hours, depending on your comfort level with the material.

The cost of the ITIL 4 exam for Foundation certification is over $300 when purchased through a testing center, but the exam is included as part of your course tuition at no extra charge.

For publicly scheduled course events, Learning Tree will set up the Take2 option for all attendees when we order your exam voucher. If you aren’t successful on your first exam, you will be notified by PeopleCert that you are eligible to register for the exam retake.

Though exam vouchers can cost hundreds, there is no additional cost to you to sign up for the Take2 re-sit program. Take2 is an additional complimentary benefit offered to you by Learning Tree.

Yes, you must re-sit the exam within six months of your initial exam.
