The PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition, defines PMIS as: “An information system consisting of the tools and techniques used to gather, integrate, and disseminate the outputs of project management processes. It is used to support all aspects of the project from initiating through closing, and can include both manual and automated systems.”Using SharePoint as the application platform for creating such a system, project management, stakeholders, and team members are empowered by centralizing, standardizing, collaborating, and communicating on all aspects of the Project and its life cycle. This easy to build, easy to use web-based GUI provides access to all project artifacts, timely Business Intelligence, communications tools, and complete integration with MS Office and MS Project whether it be in SharePoint 2016 on-premise, or SharePoint Online/Office 365.
Anyone actively involved in a project, its management or oversight would benefit from this course. Hands on training is provided to Project Mangers, major stakeholder and project team members covering such topics as Information Architecture and organization, WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), security, tasks, risks, issues, timelines, milestones, change requests, lessons learned and BI (business intelligence).
Apart from a complete understanding of how to build, customize and utilize a PMIS for effect project management, attendees can package their work as a template to take back to their workplace. This template can be used to recreate the same structure in their own environment. Mastering the tools, techniques and knowledge in this course will undoubtedly prove beneficial towards successful project management.

Attendees will work in both SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online (O365), as well as the newest versions of MS Office and MS Project. Attendees will also see BI components like Performance Point, Power Pivot, and Excel Services at work – bringing to live project visualization for all stakeholders.
