About PMI Certification
Earn PDU credits from the Project Management Institute through the Learning Tree Management Curriculum.
The Learning Tree Management Curriculum provides the knowledge and skills important to today's management professionals. Through the courses in this curriculum, you learn to apply tools and techniques that will enhance your effectiveness in managing projects and leading people.
Learning Tree provides valuable training for those beginning in the project management field or expanding their role and considering the PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® exam. Learning Tree Courses also provide valuable training for professional project managers who are pursuing or maintaining the Project Management Professional (PMP)®, the Program Management Professional (PgMP)®, the Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®, the Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)®, and/or the Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Learning Tree course participants can prepare for the associated exams and earn professional development units (PDUs) by attending specific Learning Tree courses. PDUs are required by PMI in preparing for, or maintaining, a PMI certification.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®
Those interested in achieving the CAPM certification should take Course 3601, Preparing for the CAPM Exam. This course offers the preparation needed to successfully earn this PMI certification. In this course, you learn the terms, definitions, processes and knowledge areas of the PMBOK® Guide - Fourth Edition and learn to identify significant steps of the project life cycle. You also create a personalized self-study plan for exam success.
Project Management Professional (PMP)®
If you are an experienced project manager intending to take the PMP exam, you should take Course 276, Preparing for the PMP® Exam. In this course you learn essential PMBOK® Guide terminology, tools and techniques. You gain practical test-taking experience through PMI-style practice exams and create your own personal study plan for continued use after the course.
Program Management Professional (PgMP)®
If you are an experienced project manager intending to take the PgMP® exam, you should take Course 920, Preparing for the Program Management Professional (PgMP)® Exam. This Course equips you with the knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the program management discipline and successfully prepare for the PgMP exam.
Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)®
If you are an experienced project manager intending to take the PMI-SP® exam, you should take Course 248,
Preparing for the PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)® Exam. This course develops your practical skills in scheduling—skills that are essential to successful project delivery—and successfully prepares you for the PMI-SP® exam.
Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)®
If you are an experienced project manager intending to take the PMI-RMP® exam, you should take Course 286,
Preparing for the PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® Exam. This course provides strategies for analyzing risk in project development and implementation and helps you successfully prepare for the PMI-RMP® exam.
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)SM
If you are an experienced Agile practitioner planning to take the PMI-ACP SM exam or a PMP® credential holder with Agile experience interested in enhancing your accreditation, you should take Course 3605, Preparing for the PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)SM Exam. In this course you align your Agile development experience with PMI's six domains of practice and create a personalized plan for self-study to focus your efforts from after the course to your exam date.
Additional courses in the Learning Tree Management Curriculum provide the skills that project, program and people managers need to be successful in the workplace and are aligned with the PMI document "Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide - Fourth Edition)" on which the PMP exam is based. Not all courses are specifically designed as PMI exam-preparatory courses; however, PMI Certification exam candidates and holders definitely benefit from taking the courses, which qualify for professional development units (PDUs) required by the Project Management Institute (see tables above for PDU details).

As a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) for the PMI, we can assist you with the initial qualifications for, and ongoing maintenance of, the PMP® certification. The PMP® certification, well-known in the field of project management, recognizes a solid foundation of experience, education, and accomplishment in project management.
PMP® candidates are required to earn a minimum of 35 Professional Development Units (PDUs) gained through training provided by a PMI R.E.P. Once certified, PMP®s must earn at least 60 PDUs every three years.
